I find a similar scene in my life. Grew up in church & every wk would find peace/encouragement only to get discouraged/battered throughout the week. There lies a certain human wanting to know and identify with the realness & presence of God. Also to know Christ's thoughts/perspectives concerning normal/everyday things be it routine or not. But I find I'm straining to see Christ against the grit and rawness of the world. Consequently, wherever the problem/hopelessness, it will appear more urgent/tangible than my knowledge that God's thought's are on me, Christ is there for me, and the Holy Spirit is moving and working things out on my behalf. I'm thankful that the word of God breaths life into the very place that I was powerless to change. "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Even though my heart is fallow ground.
