1,048 is the total number of verses in Category 1 - 3. This is what the 7-10 years olds will be accountable for at Nationals in November and what 11 - 18 year olds will be accountable for on Sept 12th. Will this be your goal?

1,507 is the total number of verses in Category 1 - 4. This is what the 11-18 years olds will be accountable for at Nationals in November. Will this be your goal?

The 485 verses in Category 1 and 2 have been broken down into 17 sections labled A through Q (As people advance on the chart category 3 and then 4 will also be added. When you memorize all the verses in category A, you quote them by phone, email, this page feedback, or facebook. Then your first name, the first initial of your last name, and the state you are from gets listed on the chart under your age group 7-10; 11-14; 15-18 or support (parents, older/younger siblings, coaches, Scripture enthusiasts at large). When you memorize all the verses in group B, a B gets placed next to the A after your name, and you're ready to take on the C packet, etc.

At my school and at all the Bible Bee camps I run, we use "scripture stickies" www.scripturestickies.com as a fun and effective way to help memorize. As the name implies, you can stick and restick them anywhere around the house, in the car, etc. Great for easily organizing a "memorizing wall" moving the stickies back and forth between columns like "Know perfectly"; "Memorized, but hazy"; "reference not sticking"; "new to memorize" etc. These Scripture Stickies can be bought through the website at $3.99 per individual pack (16 or 17 stickies each) or by category. Category 1 and 2 each cost $19.99 and contain 100 stickies. The Category 2 stickies are considerably more expensive to buy by individual pack (11 packs = $43.89 compared to $19.99) because the longer passages are broken into 2 or 3 stickies to make them easier to read.

To be listed on the chart below, you can write out the first 17 verses at the bottom of this page, by emailing philjohn1558@yahoo.com, on Facebook or quote them by calling (845)416-8010. Younger memorizers can quote them to their parents as they type them out. Obviously we are using the honor system and ask you not to copy and paste or have the verses available to you as you type/quote. You can only write/quote one group at a time, then must wait at least 18 hours until writing quoting the next group. After group c, you may continue writing/quoting all the verses (a great exercize to help you cement the verses in your mind.) or you may have a face to face accountability partner like a pastor, parent, etc. who could declare for you with something like, "Hi. My name is Pastor Joe Wood. Bill Thompson attends my church at 1st Baptist church of Leewood, OH, and he quoted all 17 verses in group D to me starting with 1 CORINTHIANS 2:12 and going through EPHESIANS 4:29. If you are typing/quoting yourself or someone is reporting (starting with group D) for you, be sure to include your first name, the first initial of your last name, and the state you live in.

Don't forget that even though you don't have to ever requote old verses to make this chart, a good review system to keep old verses for Life! is just as important as memorizing new verses in preparing for the Bible Bee!
