2009 Bible Bee Camps

June 22nd – 26th Camp Iroquoina - www.iroquoina.org in Hallstead, PA with the Stevensons – www.getthejoy.com

June 28th – 30th Joining the Southern Ohio Bible Bee at Calvary Baptist Church, 1920 W US Highway 22, Wilmington, OH

July 27th – 31st Bible Bee Day Camp at Upton Lake Christian school in Clinton Corners, NY

August 3rd – 6th The Hannibal, MO Bible Bee camp August featuring special guests “Of Scripture”

June 22nd – 26th Camp Iroquoina - www.iroquoina.org with the Stevensons – www.getthejoy.com The Stevensons, including Cole (graduating senior); Conner (Sophomore), Dylan (8th grader); Dani-Jo (6th grader) Carli (4th grader) and 4 year old Dayton are committed to invest all their energy for the week into helping your family have lots of fun and learn lots of Scripture. We hope many of you will join us for this incredible kick start of your Bible Bee summer.

Cost: Those who can comfortably afford it can pay the full price of $175 for the first child; $125 for the 2nd child, with a maximum of $400 for a family of 3 or more children. However, no one will be turned down due to finances. If you want to come to an awesome fun week of memorizing a lot of Scripture, we want you there! If the entrance fee would be a hardship in any way, we would like you to still attend and pay whatever is comfortable even if it is nothing.

The cost for the Mon 11:00 - 6:00; Tue - Thurs = 8:30 - 6:00 and Friday = 8:30 - 3:30 day camp is $75 for the first child; $45 for the 2nd and a maximum of $150 for a family of 3 or more. However, the same "No one is turned down due to finances" policy is in place as is explained above. If you want to memorize with us, we want you there!!

There is no cost for those who just want to come Friday for the 2 practice Bible Bees going from 11:00 - 2:00 with an included lunch in between.

Parents: Parents who can are welcome and encouraged to come along with their children. Parents who want to help serve while they are at camp can sign up for the camp kitchen staff, housekeeping staff, or help me in running the program.

Camp schedule: Arrive between Sunday evening (June 21st) after supper and Monday morning before 11:00. (The Stevensons and I will arrive Sunday afternoon and we will have some informal Scripture Memory activities and some free time for those who arrive early.

Monday: 11:00 Introduction and explanation of different activities and contests throughout the week including the theme passage and the “20/30 passage challenge”

12:00 lunch

1:00 Memorize through prompterizing. Announce prompterizing contest.

2:00 Free time (Free time activity options include swimming, fishing, archery, canoeing, wall climb, soccer, basketball, beach volleyball, gag a, teatherball, frissbee (ultimate or golf), ping pong, air hockey, fooseball, and more)

3:30 Memorize through Scripture songs. Teach/practice several songs.

4:15 Break into groups to make up their own song(s). Announce original Scripture song contest.

4:45 Memorize through pictures. Announce poster contest.

5:00 Memorize through dramatizing. Break into pairs and practice.

6:00 supper

7:00 Memorize through video

7:45 Joe Plantz time: Joe is a zany 25 year old who works full time at the camp and who knows every fun and crazy game ever invented. I can’t wait to see what he has planned for us. Joe is also known for coming up with games and activities at unconventional times

9:00 younger campers may go to bed. Memorize through prompterizing.

9:30 Indoor free time just to chat, play indoor games, review Scripture memory projects, etc.

10:00 Everyone in their own room for the night.

10:30 Lights out.

Early risers may fish with adult supervision or play ga-ga or teatherball

11:00 Memorize through writing

3:30 Memorize through puzzles 4:00 Learn the old testament and ACTS through the Picture Bible.

4:45 Memorize through pictures. Announce poster contest.

5:00 Memorize through dramatizing. Break into pairs and practice.

6:00 supper

7:00 Memorize through video

This schedule will vary from time to time with group activities replacing some of the events. We will also have a camp fire with smores one of the evenings.

Friday, June 26th

9:00 memorizing through prompterizing

9:30 Free time

10:30 Scripture songs

11:00 September 12th style Bible Bee Many written multiple choice questions and 12 minutes of 1 on 1 oral questions.

12:00 Lunch

1:00 Double elimination Spelling Bee style Bible Bee (this is an optional activity for those brave enough to participate. Others will be in the audience.)

2:00 Championships of the various competitions; presentation of projects; and awards.

3:00 Inspirational send off.

Joining the Southern Ohio Bible Bee June 28th – 30th for a Bible Bee clinic they call a “Super Do Bee Do!!” at Calvary Baptist Church, 1920 W US Highway 22, Wilmington, OH 45177. Bible Bee Day Camp at Upton Lake Christian school July 27th – 31st 9:00am – 5:00pm.

The Scripture memory activities and schedule from 9:00 – 5:00 will be similar to camp Iroquoina. However, there will not be an overlap of material learned so that people will benefit greatly from being at both camps. There is no charge for the Day Bible Bee Camp. As of now, we are asking that everyone bring their own lunch. However, if someone would like to coordinate with the other parents making and/or bringing in food, that would be a big boost. The Hannibal, MO Bible Bee camp August 3rd - 6th featuring special guests “Of Scripture” Sparkle, Vanity, and Lulanger Washington are in their 20s, full of energy, and world class talent. They will be teaching us lots of Scripture songs and inspiring us all week as we memorize God’s Word! Mon = 1:00 – 8:00; Tues – Thurs = 9:00am – 8:00pm. A more detailed schedule will be posted soon. Cost is $15 per any one day (1 full meal included) or $45 for the week. Limited housing is available.
